With the current pandemic and business closures, the main question we all want answered is “when can I go back to work?”. The good news is that Governor Wolf has provided some details on how this will happen. Hopefully within the next few weeks we will see some businesses opening back up and restrictions lifted.

Phased reopening is targeted to occur in certain regions on May 8th. The Governor provided a color coded system (Red, Yellow and Green) that applies to regions and counties across the state of Pennsylvania. That means that regions in Green will be reopening first, following CDC guidelines. Yellow regions will see some restrictions lifted, but only essential businesses will remain open. Counties that fall within the red zone will maintain current restrictions and closures until scientific data shows that it is advisable to move them into a different color category.

So what does this all mean? Essentially, some of the state will see less restrictions and have more businesses open. This targeted, tiered approach is aimed at keeping people safe while slowly reopening the economy.
